easy living
i went to a rlly small party yesterday w some ppl tht will b in my university class this term !!! it was so awkward for me bc its my first time not going to an event w my sister or my friends so i didnt hve anyone there for me to tell the others tht i have speech difficulties. i was rlly expecting everybody to completely ignore me but the host of the party said hi to me first n introduced me to everybody n spoke on behalf of me. everybody was SO sweet to me, n they all wanted to learn BSL with me n so we spent an hour just going through the alphabet n learning how to say ppl's name in sign language.
when i woke up today, i wanted to cry bc of how grateful i was to live in this point in time compared to any other time in history. ya, we r currently living in a climate catastrophe, ai is taking over everybody's jobs, n ppl my age will probably never own a home their entire lives... but im still. im so happy tht ppl are more accepting of disabilities to a point where i can hve these beautiful moments w ppl who know nothing abt apraxia of speech <3
im also rlly fortunate to know tht my disability is probably one of the most accepting disabilities by able-bodied and neurotypical ppl. my speech therapy classes r mostly filled w ppl who r deaf or severely autistic, n whose lives r so much more harder to navigate than mine. the fact tht i can see n hear n move with my two feet n touch with my two hands is something tht i can never take for granted. i pray for a world tht mkes the lives of everybody as easy as mine.
