how my parents met
lottsssaa ppl been askin how my mom n dad met cuz japanese-indian families r q uncommon !! the story’s not like supaaa wild or magical or anythinggg but i thought i’d share it jus in case u were nosy n wanna know more abt my background
my mom was born n raised in japan but took language courses in english when she was young <3 my dad was born in india and most of his family is from india also but he moved around asia a lot while he was lill and stayed in hong kong and singapore more than he lived in india.
both my mom n dad studied in london n that’s where they met n fell all mushy-gushy in love even thoughhh their courses were kinda short?? eventually my mom needed to return to jp and my dad decided to move w her later to get married (SIIIIIIIIMPPPPP!!!!)
my dad’s japanese is RLLYYY tragic so i use english w him and japanese w my mom, which is why my english ended up kinda better than the avg japanese person lol. ofc since i dont actually SPEAK, my “convos” with my dad are basically just me listening to him ramble in english all day
tht’s why london feels so special to me, even thoughhh i was raised in osaka. my parents werent born there, but in a way it feels like i was, bc if they hadnt met in london i wuldnt even be here.
i guess tht also answers a lot of ppls questions abt my connection w london, since so many of uu first found me there :3 i also feel like it’s the place tht’s been the most accomodating for my disability, n it has such a big deaf/mute community where i got to make sososo many friends who felt so alike to me
its also SO funny bc my dad has a british accent when he speaks n since i was raised on it, if i wasnt mute i would hve a british accent too !!! isnt tht so crazy ???
my sisters n i KEEP asking my parent HOW EXACTLY they met likeee ??? was it in class or like mayb they were blind dating or like maybe they met through a mutual friend ??? BUT THEY ALWAYS KEEP IT A SECRET FROM USSS. its so suspicious... but i also rlly like tht its a secret bc i am able to make up all these romantic scenarios in my head tht r totally far-fetched but also SO cuuute tht it makes me believe in love again !!!
