my first cosplay project as tifa lockhart !!!!
I INITIALLY wntedd this to b on my status update page instead of an actual post but i thoughttt hmmmmmm wait this is wayy too big of a deal for meee not to post as a main blog post !!!
now tht i am a lilll freer to do whtever i want after moving to londonnn, i rlly rlly rlly wnted to try cosplayingg for the first time. so so so so many of my friendss hve told meee i wud do a great job in it bc i kinda look like i came straight out of an anime bc of my abnormally big eyes tht i am TOTES ashamed of n bc they say there r so many characters with my body typeee ๐ญ and alsooo many of my friends r already experienceddd cosplayers who hve been to lots n lots of conventions so i completely trust their tasteees
ive alwayss been rllllyyyyy heckinnggg shyyy to start cosplayingg bc i hve worried for so so long tht i wudnt be able to do my favorite characters justiceee. being mute made me rlly connect to so many of the shows and doujins tht i consumedd as a child n so it feels like i wud be offending them if i got their looks wrongg in any wayy >.<
i think the turning point for mee to consider cosplaying was whenn a random stranger told me i looked kindaa like tifa lockhartt (i made post abt this on my status updates page i think ?) n tht eventually led me to play the first part of final fantasy 7 remake which i ABSOLUTELYYY LOVEDDD. its been months since thennn n i thinkk,,, with all the love tht i hve been getting onlineee,, i hve built enoughh confidence to try it outtt ๐ญ
mayb bc i loooveee ใใฎ็ใๆฟใไบบๅฝขใฏๆใใใ (i just searched up the english name for the anime and its called "my dress-up darling" ?? WHAAAAA),, or MAYB bc i am just so conscious how bad fast fashion when it comes to slave labour n the environment,, i decided tht i wnt to mke the cosplays from scratchhh all by myselff !!! they'll b a combination of:
- new clothes tht i hve sewed, knitted, or crocheted myself w materials tht i find from local materials shops
- clothes tht r already in my closet
- accessories tht i hve thrifted from more affordable second hand shopss like boots, belts, things tht i just cant mke at homeee
bc of this, it will take a rlly long time for me to mke the cosplays,, and more importantly,, it will probablyyy be wayy more expensiveee than buying the outfits outrighttt. but i just LOVEEE the ideaa of mking the outfitsss more than actually wearinggg themmm !!! so likeee UMMM i am so so so willing 2 just mke it from scratch. also i hve no choice but to mke them myselff bc most outfits wont evenn hve the correct sizing/tailoringg for me given the obvious situationn with my chest ๐ญ
i thinkkk ill probably be turning my alternative instagram page tht i used to practice my english and talk about art history into a cosplay pageee insteadddd. i dont hve any cosplay posts on there OBVIOUSLYY but if uuu wnna follow it before i mke my posts, my username for it is @_nao.ko (ill b changing my username soon LOL it looks so messyyyy)
also also alsoooo ill b mking a separate section in this blog abt my cosplayyy updatesss (where i am etc.). i hve alreadyyy made SO MUCH progress on my tifa lockhart oneee so i might actually post my firsttt cosplay picc at some point this monthhh (eeekkk!!! im so excitedd) so stay tuned for thtttt. ill also b hosting votes on my tumblr on wht my next cosplay shud beee,,, i think a few of my followers hve mentioned tht i shud try a chun li cosplay after seeing my swimsuit pics on twitter (guyyyyssss my thighs arent THT biggg are theyyy? ๐ญ) but i thinkkk i will b able to get yor from spy x familyy done vv quicklyyy. also wud lovee to try the girl from metamorphoses LOLLLLLLLLLL tht wud be sooo funnyyyyyyy. OH AND FERNNN !!! AND MAYBE A CHARACTER FROM DEAD OR ALIVE !!!! goshhhh there r SOO MANY CHARACTERS I WNNA DOOO ... SO MANY NSFW DOUJIN FEMALE CHARACTERS THT NO ONE HAS EVER COSPLAYEDD BEFOREEEE !!!! mayb i will starttt a neww trenddd in the cosplay community LOLLLLLL
FINALLY, andd least importantlyyyyy (PLEASE DON'T READ ON IF UU THIS DOESNT CONCERN UUU !! i completelyy understandd if maybe uuu r a bit disappointed w the ending of this blog post), this is gnnaa be my rlly shameless suggestionnn to mayb check my new throne wishlist page ๐ญ as uuu knoww, cosplays can b rlly rllyyy expensive, and EVEN THOUGHHHH i wnna mke this project mostlyyyy funded throughhh my ownnn job n my own pocket moneyyy n stuff, i still wntedd to mention the wishlist in case there is a rllyyy kind strangerrrrrrr or friend out theree whoo might wnna helpp me achieve my cosplay goalsss. I DONT EXPECT ANYONEEE TO ACTUALLYYY DONATE TO MEEEE bc tht wud bee sosososo demandinggg of mee from uu guys esp since uu guys hve already supported mee so muchhh w all the lovee n confidencee uu hve givennn meeee >.< but but but mayb there is someone out there who might wnna see me post my pics of my cosplayy soonerrr and most of the time spent on mking the cosplayyy is actually spent workinggg my jobbb so tht i can save uppp for certainnn sewing materials etcc.. SO YAAAAAA,,, i set up the option to donateee to my projectttt <333 100% of it goes to my cosplays and my cosplays ONLYYYYY
